Operator 25
Preforming a valuable community service, Operator 25 was the source of a wide variety of
information including train schedules, public meeting times, weather forecasts and baseball
scores. SNET President Morris Tyler instituted this practice to build public awareness of
the usefulness of the telephone. In 1909, Operator 25 became "Information".
