BiographyJohn D. Alsop was elected to the Connecticut State Legislature in 1946. He was active in Connecticut politics, at the state level, until the mid-1960s. In 1962, he ran unsuccessfully for governor and in 1965, at the Constitutional Convention, served as co-chairperson of one of the three committees responsible for writing the current Connecticut State Constitution.
