Abstract: John D. Alsop was elected to the Connecticut state legislature in 1946. He served as co-chairperson of one of the three committees that wrote the present Connecticut State Constitution at the Constitutional Convention of 1965.

Biography

John D. Alsop was elected to the Connecticut State Legislature in 1946. He was active in Connecticut politics, at the state level, until the mid-1960s. In 1962, he ran unsuccessfully for governor and in 1965, at the Constitutional Convention, served as co-chairperson of one of the three committees responsible for writing the current Connecticut State Constitution.
