Collections of original source materials for research, primarily the humanities and social sciences, comprise the foundation upon which the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center is built. The professional staff in Archives & Special Collections preserves and makes accessible records of enduring value that require special handling. The Thomas J. Dodd research Center works closely with other organizations on campus to provide opportunities for the University and the community to engage in conversations on human rights issues.

The Center for Judaic Studies fosters academic study and research in Judaic Studies through undergraduate and graduate courses for academic concentration and enrichment as well as training for service in the community by providing a Judaic Studies component.
The Human Rights Institute coordinates human rights initiatives at the University of Connecticut and support faculty and students who study human rights and promotes a unique approach to international human rights scholarship based upon contextual and multidisciplinary research in the social sciences, humanities and law.
